The story of Vanessa Kim- My mother doesn't recall what time I was born-I couldn't tell you. But I can tell you the summer I was birthed during one of the hottest summers in Oklahoma history. I remember my booger wall well. I'm told I cried alot..and that I was very spoiled. I have no doubt. I longed to just belong. To be accepted. Mostly by myself. I drove a red car. I tagged clothes to be cleaned and dug through people's pockets-the stories I could tell. I met the man of my dreams. He ate a lot of pizza..he still does now. Usually the frozen variety. Fast forward 5 years, this screaming child emerged from my lowers and changed our lives. She cried a lot-just like me. Now she walks, talks, goes on the potty, and tells me she loves me every day. Oh, and that I'm pretty. She loves makeup and changes her clothes 10 times a day. Then came the boy. He never cried. Rarely does now. He's walking, talking some, and calls me Mama. He has these wonderfully chubby cheeks that are perfectly for squishy kisses. Friends have come. Friends have gone. I no longer have a booger wall. But I am still a terrible housekeeper. I wear athletic socks and high top tennis shoes. My boobs are much too big and so is my heart at times. In the end the same blood pumps through my veins that did in the very beginning.
